Mrs. Catherine Kreps

Born and raised in St. Bernard Parish, Catherine Kreps is the School Counselor at N. P. Trist Middle.  She has been at Trist for the last 7 years. Catherine graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2016 with her masters in school counseling. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Ricky, and her two children, Rosalie and Rawlins. 

Ms. Katharine "Katie" R. Bourgeois, LCSW

Born and raised in Connecticut, Katie Bourgeois is the Trauma Social Worker for the St. Bernard Parish School Board. Mrs. Bourgeois graduated from Western Connecticut State University in 2013 with her Bachelor's in Social Work (BSW) and graduated from Tulane University: School of Social Work with her Masters in Social Work and certificate in Disaster Mental Health and Trauma Studies in 2014. She has been a member of the Phi Alpha Honor Society since 2014. 

Mrs. Bourgeois’ professional experience includes working at a youth residential program in Connecticut for girls in DCFS custody, on parole, and/or victims of human trafficking, as well as working at a group home for boys with Autism. After obtaining her master's, she opened the Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services (PCHAS) office in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she worked with youth and families and became TBRI: Train the Trainer trained through Texas Christian University in 2015. She has had experience as a medical social worker at Slidell Memorial Hospital and University Medical Center but missed working with schools. Mrs. Bourgeois began working in Jefferson Parish Public School System in 2016, where she was a school social worker as well as a Special Education School Social Worker. She was hired by the St. Bernard Parish School board in January of 2023 as the Trauma Social Worker servicing N. P. Trist Middle School and Andrew Jackson Middle School.
